You unlock Legendary Monsters at wave 120, so you have them extremely early on. With an efficient layout your DPS Monsters should have at least 2-3 support monsters (same element) buffing it, which means the Combo skill percentage is multiplied by 2-3. Each Monster has a Combo skill which gives it a stronger boost to its own attributes. The aforementioned Passive Skills of the Legendary Monsters is by far the most important reason. So why else would we choose Legendary Monsters over their Mythic/Celestial counterparts? With that being said we know Fire Devil is a perfect primary DPS, with Beary Fungi/Sea Mustang as an appropriate secondary. Beary Fungi or Sea Mustang are usually chosen as the secondary, as their passive boosts Critical Hit Damage or Attack Speed respectively. Other elements have similar Combo benefits, but Fire Devil's ends up being the best as it's a direct boost to Damage. So not only does your Fire Devil get an Attack Speed boost (which increases its' DPS) from the other Fire Support monsters around it, but it gets a direct boost to its Damage for each monster on the map.
